The German Shepherd is versatile and alert. Unfailingly loyal and highly trainable, the Shepherd shows outstanding obedience. An exceptional sense of smell, a sleek, muscular body and an above average intelligence are qualities that must be preserved through exercise and a tailor-made food.

GERMAN SHEPHERD Junior 30. 12 kg.

For German Shepherd puppies from 2 to 15 months.

# Full muscle development The German Shepherd puppy's weight development follows a very slow pattern. He develops muscle mass and solidifies his bone structure he still needs high energy levels, 1.6 times that of an adult dog, and even more if he is in intense physical training from a very young age.

# A mature digestive tract The digestive tract is finally ready to absorb larger amounts of food, allthough the German Shepherd puppy remains particularly sensitive in this repsect. Therefore, his food must provide maximum digestive security. The daily ration must also be striclty controlled to avoid weight gain and the attendant risks of bone deformities. German Shepherd Junior 30 has been specifically designed to suit the needs of the growing German Shepherd and can be fed from weaning until 15 months.

# Promotes joint health and consolidation of the bone structure with a balance, daily calcium and phosphorus content, and very high levels of chondroitin and glucosamine.

# with a balanced, daily calcium (1.15%) and phosphorous content (0.9%), and very high levels of chondroitine and glucosamine (1000 mg/kg) to maintain joint health.

# vitamin E and C (600/300 mg/kg) and amino acids ensuring skin integrity by the production of ceramides and the synergistic action of gamma linoleic acid (borage oil) and zinc that nourish the skin.

# Acti digest: Limits fermentation activity in the colon and improves the consistency of stools, thus ensuring digestive safety.

For GERMAN SHEPHERDs over 15 months old.

German Shepherd 24, the new canine breed specific food developed by Royal Canin, is a result of modern technological advances in canine health nutrition from Royal Canin and thorough research into dietary requirements of the German Shepherd. German Shepherd 24 caters for the high energy needs of this breed, the complex needs of its skin and coat to maintain its exquisite beauty and a sensitive digestive system which is a characteristic of the German Shepherd.
German Shepherd 24 aids the maintainance of a highly developed bone structure that is under immense daily stress, and strengthens the German Shepherd's natural immune system.

gsdsm.gif (1920 bytes) Promotes Digestive Safety
In developing German Shepherd 24,
Royal Canin selected:
Very specific hyper-digestible proteins in the form of isolates of soya and poultry.
A high concentration of energy to reduce the volume of the meal conserving optimal energy contribution.
Rice starch and fatty acids from coprah oil (coconut oil), as these nutrients digest quickly.
Beet pulp, a source of fermentable fibres, reduces fermantation activity; and mannan-oligosaccharides (MOS) prevent the attachment of pathogenic bacteria. Omega 3 acids (EPA and DHA) reduce the inflamation reactions
circle.gif (1754 bytes) Reinforces the Natural Defences.
German Shepherds have reduced concentrations of immunoglobulin A (IgA), antibodies preventing the attachment of bacteria. To address this deficiency, German Shepherds' natural immune defences must be reinforced:
MOS increases the level of antibodies.
The antioxidants vitamins E and C, lutein and taurine fight against effects of free radicals

Protects the Joints.
Their muscular and athletic bodies give German Shepherds great mobility, exerting stress on the joints.
Well known for their reconstructive and protective properties, condroitin sulphate and glucosamine, associated with manganese, also help reduce the risk of arthritis.
Omega 3 fatty acids (EPA-DHA) fight against inflamation and wounds.

For German Shepherd puppies younger than 15 months, GERMAN SHEPHERD Junior 30, is recommended

Protects Sensitive Skin.
More alkaline than other breeds, the German Shepherd's skin is sensitive to bacteria and has a predisposition towards pyoderma.
A blend of vitamins and amino acids (omega 6 fatty acids, linoleic acid, zinc and selenium) reinforce the cutaneous defences and the shine and health of the coat.
