OBEDIENCE :

This course consists of intensive live-in obedience course for dogs from 24 weeks of age and up.. Each owner receives a personal lesson with a professional dogtrainer upon picking up their pet, during which time we teach you how to get the best from your pet. Each dog will work correctly for the owner on lead prior to leaving and owners receive , written information about training, and a certificate of completion or an optional framed colour digital photograph of their dog on the completed training certificate.

The course consists of the following commands and exercises completed on lead.

bulletThe HEEL command: The dog will walk by your left hand side wherever you go. The dog will not pull forwards or lag behind. The dog will heel correctly under many different distractions, and complete advanced heeling patterns.

SIT: The dog will sit when asked to do so. This is a neutral and safe position for the dog..

bulletDOWN: The dog will lie down when told to do so.

STAY: The dog will stay in the position he is given the command, generally from a sit or down position, but with practice from any position any time. He will stay under many different distractions and temptations to move.

COME:Your dog will come to you when called to do so. Generally after a stay but with practice from any position.
bulletSOCIALISATION: Your dog will be socialised with other dogs and people. He does not see them as a threat or a friend but in a neutral way. He should be neither frightened of them or act aggressively unprovoked.

CONFIDENCE: Your dog will have his confidence level increased to the environment, different situations, people and dogs. He will be more confident because he feels he can communicate with his master and best friend.

RESTRAINED: (Pegged up or show pegged also commonly used) Your dog will be taught to be restrained by means of a lead and collar to an object, for periods of time without feeling he is in trouble. He will remain quiet and content and realises that it is for a reason. You may have need to do this at a dog show, or similar environment when the dog needs to be restrained.
